The Ka has earned a serious following in club motorsport, particularly autotests, trials, and sealed-surface events, where its light weight, quick steering, and low running costs make it a practical competition car on a modest budget. Any meaningful Ka build includes a proper seat early on. The standard item is wide and shallow, and the cabin is tight enough that fitting a universal bracket and side mount can raise the seat to the point where a helmet hits the headlining.
Part 870415 is Recaro’s direct-fit sub-frame for the Ka. It uses the OEM floor mounting points without drilling and positions the seat at the height and angle Recaro designed for this platform. Getting the height right in a Ka matters: 20mm is the difference between comfortable headroom and a helmet fouling the roof at speed.
The sub-frames include sliding runners, so fore-aft adjustment is retained. These frames work with Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats only. Side-mounted competition shells need separate adaptor bars and are not covered by this kit. One frame per seat.
