The Escort from February 1995 onwards, including the Cabriolet variant, covers the last generation of a nameplate that ran through three decades of European motorsport. The Mk6 and Mk7 Escort are less celebrated than the RS Cosworth or the Mk2 rally car, but they attracted a committed following in club racing and track-day use, and the Cabriolet is valued today as a practical open-top sports car on a sensible budget.
Part 866016 is Recaro’s direct-fit sub-frame for the Escort and Escort Cabriolet from February 1995 onwards. Note that this shares its base part code with the Ford Puma frame (866016-1836), which is a suffixed variant for that different model. The undated Escort listing uses the base code alone. Fit the OEM floor points without drilling, slide into the fore-aft position with the integrated runners, and the seat sits where Recaro designed it for this platform.
These frames work with Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats. Side-mounted competition shells need separate adaptor bars. At £215, this is slightly above the standard sub-frame price, which reflects the more involved bracket on this floor. One frame per seat.
