The lightest RX-7 by a long way
A first generation car is around a tonne, which is several hundred kilos less than the FD and a world away from the FC. That weight, a 12A rotary and rear wheel drive is why they are still raced in historic and club events.
It also means the seat choice genuinely matters. A heavy steel framed shell gives back a real proportion of what makes the car quick, so ask us about the lighter GRP and composite options rather than defaulting to the cheapest steel seat.
Heat and rust, in that order
Rotaries run hot and put that heat into the cabin. And first generation RX-7s rust comprehensively, which is why so few survive. Get right under the carpet before you spend anything.
A period trimmed shell suits the car far better than a modern bucket. Handed, so order twice for a pair.
