A PCI Racing adjustable seat mount for the Mazda MX-5 NC, 2006 to 2015. Part number SM-06MX5-A1.
This is the low one. PCI’s adjustable mount has the largest range of adjustment and the lowest possible seat fitment in their range, and in an MX-5 that is worth a great deal: the cabin is small, the roof is close, and every millimetre you get down is a millimetre of head clearance with a helmet on.
What you give up
The slider. This mount sets the seat position at installation and it stays there. If you are the only person who drives the car that costs you nothing. If anyone else drives it, or you want to be able to move the seat back to get things in, the sliding sub frame is the version to buy.
Adjustment is not a one time thing either. The hardware interlocks into the slots in the seat base, so the position can be changed later with one tool and without taking the mount out of the car.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from one piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with the bends doing the work that thicker metal would otherwise do. Gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, five and six point sub belt mounting locations built in.
Ordering
Side mount, for a competition bucket. Bolts to the factory seat mounting points, so nothing is drilled and the original seats come out whole. Handed, so order twice for a pair.
Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: Corbeau PSR Seats In A Mazda MX-5 Mk1: The One Bracket That Takes Them, and Top 5 Bucket Seats For Your Mazda MX-5 Mk4 (ND), And One Kit That Fits Them All. Those are written around the same car, from real fittings and customer questions, so they are worth a look before you decide.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on PCI frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a side-mount frame: the seat hangs between side brackets bolted through its flanks, the motorsport-style stack that gives fine height and angle control. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
