PCI Racing one piece mounts for the Mazda MX-5 Mk1 and Mk2, the NA and NB chassis. Part number SM-90MX5-S5.
One piece is the specification and it is the reason to consider this over the standard sliding sub frame. Instead of a base bracket with separate side mounts bolted to it, the whole mounting is a single formed part. Fewer joints means fewer places to flex, and in a car this light and this low that rigidity is worth having.
It also sits lower than a multi part mounting can, because you are not stacking brackets on top of each other.
Where it suits
A dedicated track or competition NA or NB, where you want the seat as low and as solid as it will go and you are not moving it for anybody else. If the car is shared or still doing road miles, the sliding sub frame is the easier thing to live with.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with the bends adding stiffness where thicker metal would otherwise be needed. Gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware.
Before you order
Tell us the seat you are fitting and your height. A one piece mount is less forgiving than an adjustable one, so getting the combination right first time matters more.
Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: Customer Question: What’s the Biggest Seat That Fits in My Mazda MX5?, and New Mazda MX5 TRS Harness Belts. Those are written around the same car, from real fittings and customer questions, so they are worth a look before you decide.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on PCI frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a side-mount frame: the seat hangs between side brackets bolted through its flanks, the motorsport-style stack that gives fine height and angle control. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
