Seat height matters more in a 911 than almost anywhere
This is the important part. The 911 seating position is already low and set rearward over the engine, and the roof slopes away sharply behind the driver. A seat that sits too tall becomes a problem very quickly, and it is not something you can judge from a photograph.
Confirm the seat height with us before ordering. Tell us your own height as well, because a tall driver in a 911 with a competition seat fitted has genuinely limited room.
Two generations, one frame
The 996 was the first water cooled 911, from 1997 to 2004, and the 997 replaced it until 2009 within OMP’s validated range. They share enough floor structure for one frame to cover both.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Porsche 911 (996-997) (996). Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern) and 405mm x 290mm (the Recaro seat pattern). If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on OMP frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
