An OMP direct fit subframe for the Vauxhall and Opel Corsa B. Part number HC785.
The Corsa B ran from 1993 to 2000 and is sold under both badges depending on the market. The GSi and the Sport are the versions people build.
Why these still turn up
They are close to free, very light, and there is still a following for them in club events and grassroots drift. It is one of the cheapest ways into building a car properly, which is exactly why a bolt in subframe matters: nothing needs fabricating and the money goes into the seat instead.
Check the floor properly
Corsa Bs rust, they are twenty five to thirty years old, and almost none have been looked after. Lift the carpet and look at the metal round the seat mounting points before you spend anything. If it is soft, get the metal sorted first.
Space and weight
Small inside and very light, so shell width matters and a heavy steel seat gives back a real slice of the car’s advantage. Tell us your height and build.
What else you need
Side mounts and the seat. OMP frames carry two bolt patterns rather than one. 345mm by 271mm is the spacing Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats all use, and 405mm by 290mm is Recaro, so an OMP frame takes a Recaro where a Sparco frame will not. Cobra work to their own 291mm by 330mm spacing, so a Cobra seat needs multi hole side mounts. Order twice for a pair.
Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: How do I fit my Corsa VXR seats into my Astra H?, and Transferring Seats From A Corsa VXR. Those are written around the same car, from real fittings and customer questions, so they are worth a look before you decide.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Vauxhall Corsa B. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern) and 405mm x 290mm (the Recaro seat pattern). If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on OMP frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
