The Kirkey 89 Series sits between the entry-level 80 Series and the sprint-specific seats in the Kirkey range. It is a 10 degree containment seat with full head surround and shoulder sections, available from 14 to 18 inches wide, which includes an 18 inch option that the sprint seats do not offer. Mounting brackets are included in the price.
The 10 degree angle distinguishes the 89 Series from the 80 and 86 Series, both of which run at 20 degrees. That more upright position suits classes and chassis where the cockpit geometry places the driver closer to vertical, such as older short-track modified builds or some off-road race configurations where 20 degrees would put the driver’s head too close to the roof. Part number is 89-Series.
The 89 Series accepts a six-point harness, as do several other Kirkey models including the 56LW, 58LW, 71 and 73 Series. That makes it relevant for drivers whose class rules require the six-point configuration alongside a full containment shell.
The price covers seat, cover and mounting brackets. For the 20 degree alternative at the same level, the 86 Series (part 86KIT-86-Series) adds vertical and head restraint adjustability. For the 10 degree sprint-specific seat, the 79 Series is the direct comparison without brackets, at a higher price point that reflects the sprint application.
