The Kirkey 80 Series is the entry-level containment seat in the Kirkey range: the starting point for a driver who has decided a basic bucket is not enough and needs the head surround and shoulder containment that an oval class demands. Kirkey positions it for Street Stock, IMCA Modified, Dwarf Cars, Legend Cars, Mod Lite and Tobias Slingshot, classes where containment is expected but the budget does not always stretch to the premium sprint or dirt late model seats.
The shell is 20 degrees, built from .100 and .190 inch 5052-grade aluminium with moulded rubber inserts at all belt openings. Widths run from 14 to 18.5 inches. A seat cover is included. The seat accepts both five-point and six-point harnesses. Part number is 80-Series-801.
This listing is for the seat and cover. A rear mounting bracket (part 99212, listed separately) is needed for installation. Kirkey recommends using all four rear mounting points on a containment seat, not just two, to distribute load across the structure.
The step up from the 80 Series is the 86 Series Intermediate (part 86KIT-86-Series), which adds four inches of vertical adjustment, two inches of head restraint adjustment, and mounting brackets in the kit price. The 80 Series is a solid choice for the classes listed above; its limitation is that it does not adjust once mounted, so the fit is set at installation.
