The Endurance Motorsport Weld In Seat Rail Kit (part 635-6848) is a steel rail set designed to be welded permanently to the car’s chassis rather than bolted through the floor. At £90 it is the component for builds where a bolt-in subframe is not enough: cage cars, hill climb specials, dedicated track builds, and any application where the seat mount needs to be integral with the structure.
Welding the rails in removes the compliance that a bolted assembly always carries. Bolts stretch, holes elongate, and in a crash the energy path through a bolted stack is less predictable than through welded steel. Race regulations for some classes require welded rails for exactly this reason; check your series’ technical regulations if you are building for competition.
These are not an appropriate fitment for a road car or a car that will be registered and driven on public roads without professional inspection of the weld quality. Weld-in seat rails are considered structural modifications in an MOT context and the weld standard matters. Have the installation signed off by a qualified welder and inspected by the series scrutineer before the first event.
The rail kit is a bare steel weld-in set. Side mounts and a seat shell are separate purchases above it. Contact us if you want a full stack specification for your particular car.
