The Volkswagen Vento, sold from 1992 to 1998, was the notchback saloon version of the Golf Mk3. The VR6 variant, with the 2.9-litre narrow-angle V6 producing 174bhp, and the GTi 16V models attracted a performance following. The VR6 Vento is occasionally seen at track days and hillclimbs, and owners who have fitted a K04 turbo or supercharger conversion to the 2.0-litre ABF engine use it in club sprint events. The Vento shares the Golf Mk3 platform but the notchback body gives it a different rear floor structure, so the seat fixing positions differ from the Golf Mk3 equivalent and a Golf sub-frame is not a correct substitute.
This Corbeau sub-frame is designed around the Vento’s original floor bolt positions. The kit works from the factory fixings without drilling, placing the Corbeau seat at the correct height and angle for the Vento floor. Depending on the configuration Corbeau have developed for this car, the kit may be a complete replacement frame with a sliding runner or an adaptation bracket set.
