Direct fit sub-frames for the Volkswagen Golf Mk6, from Corbeau, 245. Car-specific, and fixed through the seat mounting points the factory left in the floor.

Mk6, 2008 to 2013

This frame is for the sixth generation Golf, GTI and R included. The Mk7 that replaced it has a different floor and its own frame at 245, and the Mk8 frame is 289.50. The Mk5 frame is another separate part, so it is worth checking the registration rather than going by the shape of the car.

Direct fit, no drilling

The frame uses the factory mounting points and sits the seat at a height that suits it. On a Mk6 with a helmet on, the standard seat is the headroom problem and the frame is the answer.

Per seat, base mount only

Corbeau say the frames are not designed for side-mounted seats, so if you are fitting a side-mount bucket, ask us and we will sort the right mounting for it. It suits the Corbeau seats that mount through their base, the Sportline reclining range and the Classic bucket shells. What arrives depends on the car, either a full frame or runners and brackets for the factory base, so treat the picture as a guide. The box holds one frame and its double locking runners. That does one seat; a passenger seat wants another box.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Corbeau frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.

Seats built to a specification you have chosen are made for your order, so our special order terms apply once production has started.
