The Vauxhall Astra Mk4, sold from 1998 to 2004 and built on the GM2900 platform, covered everything from the 1.2-litre base to the 2.0-litre Turbo in the GSi and the 2.0-litre OPC. The OPC and GSi in particular picked up a club motorsport following because they came with the mechanical groundwork already done. The factory seats in those cars were reasonably supportive, but lateral retention in anything with real pace gives out well before the rest of the car does.
This sub-frame is built around the Mk4 Astra floor fixings. The Mk4 carries different mounting geometry from the Mk3 and Mk5, so a sub-frame designed for either of those is not the right tool here. The kit uses the original bolt positions to carry the Corbeau seat at the correct height and angle. Some configurations for this floor use a complete replacement frame; others use adaptation brackets that work off the existing runners. The exact type depends on the specific application Corbeau have developed for the Mk4 floor.
