The Porsche 911 covered by this sub-frame is the air-cooled family in general, with the rear-mounted flat-six and the rear-engine weight bias that defines the car’s handling character. The 911 sees more track and motorsport use than almost any other sports car of its era, and fitting a bucket seat is a standard step in any competition build. The 911’s floor is specific: the rear-engine layout means there is no transmission tunnel running front to rear, and the floor sits closer to the driver than in a conventional front-engined car. Getting the seat height right is critical in a 911 because headroom is limited, particularly with a roll cage fitted.
This Corbeau sub-frame is matched to the 911’s floor fixing positions. The kit uses the original bolt points and places the Corbeau seat at the correct height for the 911 floor without any drilling.
