The Opel Kadett E, produced from 1984 to 1993, is known in the UK as the Vauxhall Astra Mk2. The GSi 16V and the GSi 2.0i are the sporting variants, and the Kadett E was a staple of German and Dutch club motorsport in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The German-market GSi ran the C20XE 16-valve engine and competed in Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft qualifying series and regional sprint events. Despite sharing the same platform and mechanicals as the Vauxhall Astra Mk2, the Opel-badged cars built for continental European markets carry slightly different interior and floor specifications in some configurations. If you are in the UK with a Vauxhall Astra Mk2, check which listing applies to your car’s exact body code before ordering.

This Corbeau sub-frame is designed for the Opel Kadett E floor fixing positions. The sub-frame uses the original bolt points and may be a complete replacement frame or adaptation brackets depending on the specific configuration.

For base-mounted and reclining sport seats only. Side-mounted FIA race seats need different hardware. Priced at £245 exc. VAT per seat position. Order twice for both sides. Note the Corbeau seat model at checkout and we will confirm the combination before dispatch.

What's included?

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Corbeau frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Corbeau seats are handcrafted here in the UK

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.
