The Puma (1997-2002) was built on a shortened Fiesta Mk4 platform with a 1.7 litre VCT engine producing 125bhp, which gave it more agility than the saloon-derived cars it competed against in its class. Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering team worked on the suspension, and the Puma earned a genuine record in hillclimb and sprint events. The standard Puma driving position sits relatively low for a production car, which makes seat selection and proper sub-frame height more important here than in a taller-roofed hatchback. The Corbeau kit connects to the Puma’s original floor fixings.
The sub-frame fits the Puma’s standard floor hole positions without drilling in most applications. ±10mm bolt tolerance, and minor filing may be needed on some cars. Base-mounted bucket seats and reclining sport seats only; the kit is not suitable for side-mounted FIA seats.
