Corbeau Revolution System 1 XL in Tartan Edition trim, 960. An FIA 8855-1999 fibreglass bucket with head support, fixed back, trimmed in wool tartan and velour.
Revolution or Revenge
Both are tartan trimmed FIA shells with head support, and both are 960 in XL. They are different shapes rather than different grades, so the honest answer is that you should sit in them. The Revolution is the one people tend to prefer if they find the Revenge tight across the shoulders.
The standard width Revolution Tartan is 920, and this XL covers both a 32 to 36 and a 36 to 38 inch waist.
What the tartan costs and why
The plain Revolution System 1 XL is 670. The tartan is genuine wool cloth cut and trimmed in house, one seat at a time, which is where the difference goes. It is not a printed fabric or a cover.
Eight designs: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern and Weir Ancient.
System 1, and base mount
System 1 is the fibreglass shell in Corbeau grading, below the Kevlar System 3 and carbon System 5. This one is base mount, so the seat sits on its base rather than hanging between side mounts, which changes what you need underneath. Check your frames suit a base mount seat before ordering.
FIA validity
8855-1999. The date that matters is printed on the seat you receive, usually manufacture plus five years, extendable by two through the manufacturer.
Seat only
Frames and mounts are sold separately. Tell us the car.
