Direct fit sub-frames for the BMW 3 Series E93 convertible, from Corbeau, 245 per frame. Vehicle-specific frames that bolt to the car’s factory seat mounting points.

E93 is the convertible

BMW’s fifth generation 3 Series came as the E90 saloon, the E91 Touring and this E93 convertible, and Corbeau list a frame for each at 245. The convertible has its own floor reinforcement and its own frame, so an E90 frame is not the answer even though the cars share most of their parts. Registration confirms it.

Seats in a convertible

An E93 with the roof down and a helmet on is not short of headroom, so the reason for a frame here is usually the seat rather than the height: a proper seat on the factory mounting points, no drilling, and a seating position that suits the shell.

Runners in, side mounts out

Who it is for: a base-mounted Corbeau seat, either a Sportline recliner or a Classic bucket. Corbeau are clear that the frames are not for any side-mounted seat. If yours side mounts, tell us before ordering and we will find what suits it. The box holds one frame and its double locking runners. That does one seat; a passenger seat wants another box. Do not go by the photo: the kit for one car is a complete frame and for another it is a runner and bracket set that fits the existing base.

What's included?

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Corbeau frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Corbeau seats are handcrafted here in the UK

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.

Seats built to a specification you have chosen are made for your order, so our special order terms apply once production has started.
