Period trim on a period shell

The GT3 Historic exists for classic and historic racing where appearance is part of the specification, so tartan sits on it more naturally than on a modern competition shell. Cobra hand trim these in the UK and let the tartan into the centre panel rather than printing it.

Four point harness only

The slots take a 4 point belt and there is no 6 point routing on this shell. Worth checking against your regulations before you order, because it is the one thing that would rule the seat out.

The seat

Fixed back steel frame, integrated headrest, eyelets in anthracite or silver. Base mount at the standard Cobra 291mm x 330mm pattern. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated.

If you want tartan with FIA approval, the Imola, Suzuka, Sebring and Evolution all carry FIA 8855-1999 with tartan options.

What do I need to fit it to my car?
The car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike. We keep the ranges on display in the showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.

Cobra seats are handcrafted in the UK

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.

Working to a date, or not sure which trim to pick? Ring us before you order. Getting the specification right at the start is far easier than changing it later.
