The Cobra GT3 Historic in houndstooth, a fixed back bucket seat. Part number COB-GT3-HOUNDSTOOTH.

Houndstooth is a period pattern rather than a modern one, and that is the point of it. It was a genuine trim on performance cars of the sixties and seventies, so on a Cobra shell it reads as correct rather than as decoration. Classic black and white check, let into the centre panel rather than printed.

The GT3 Historic exists for classic and historic racing where appearance is part of the specification, so houndstooth sits on it as naturally as it did on the performance cars of its era.

Fixed-back steel frame with a separate adjustable head restraint. Decorative backrest eyelets are available in anthracite or silver; these are not harness guides. Confirm the exact seat, belt routing and vehicle anchorage before planning a harness installation.

Base mount at the standard Cobra 291mm x 330mm pattern. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated.

Hand trimmed in the UK. Seat only. Tell us the car for a frame.

What is this seat?
This is the Cobra GT3 Historic shell in the houndstooth trim option, made to order. Houndstooth is a trim finish, it does not change the shape, approval or mounting of the standard Cobra GT3 Historic seat: fixed-back steel frame and separate adjustable headrest. The image shows the version without decorative backrest eyelets; confirm the eyelet finish when ordering. Any decorative eyelets are not harness guides, so confirm a proposed belt installation separately.

Will my existing frame or brackets still fit it?
Yes. The shell, shape and mounting are the same as the plain Cobra GT3 Historic, so any bracket, frame or fitting kit that suits the standard version fits this one too.

Will I fit in this seat?
Waist size and height are the maker's paper numbers. How a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
