Latest Mirco Bucket Seat Delivery Completes Our In-Store FIA Display

We’ve recently received another large delivery of Mirco bucket seats, and it’s completed one of the biggest milestones for our showroom. Our Mirco display now features every FIA-approved bucket seat model from the current Mirco range, all ready for customers to view, compare, and test in person.

Whether you’re building a dedicated race car, preparing for your next track day, or simply upgrading your driving position, it’s much easier to choose the right seat when you can sit in multiple models side by side. That’s exactly what our updated display now offers, with popular models such as the Mirco GT, RTS-2, RTX-7, Classic, RS1, RS2, and RS7 all available to compare under one roof.

Alongside the FIA-approved range, we’ve also expanded our showroom display with a selection of Mirco’s non-FIA track day seats, including the Mirco XL and the Mirco S3000. These provide excellent alternatives for customers looking for high levels of support without necessarily needing FIA approval for competitive motorsport.

Every seat we currently display is finished in Mirco’s standard black velour or breathable 3D spacer fabric. However, that’s only the beginning of what’s available. Mirco offers well over 250 bespoke combinations of colours, stitching, embroidery, harness slots, shell finishes, and trim materials, allowing you to build a seat that matches your car perfectly. These bespoke options are available to order through our website and are manufactured to your chosen specification.

Why Choose a Mirco Bucket Seat?

Mirco has become one of the most respected names in motorsport seating by producing high-quality FIA-approved bucket seats that combine excellent support, practical sizing, and extensive customisation options.

One of the biggest advantages of the Mirco range is the sheer variety of models available. Rather than offering only one or two shell shapes, Mirco has developed seats for almost every type of driver, from compact lightweight designs for smaller cockpits through to larger shells for broader drivers and specialist head-supported seats for higher levels of motorsport.

Most of the seats we stock and display carry FIA homologation, making them suitable for Motorsport UK competition, circuit racing, rallying, sprint events, hill climbs, drifting, and track days. Drivers looking for even greater protection can choose one of the RS head-supported models, which provide increased lateral support around the head and shoulders for more demanding motorsport applications.

Another reason customers choose Mirco is the value for money. The seats offer excellent levels of support and FIA approval while also giving customers an incredible amount of freedom to personalise the final specification.

Our Complete Mirco FIA Bucket Seat Display

With this latest delivery, our Mirco display has grown into one of the most complete collections we’ve ever had in our showroom. Every current FIA bucket seat model from Mirco is now available for customers to view, compare, and most importantly, sit in before making a purchase. Rather than relying purely on dimensions listed online, you can experience the differences in shell shape, side support, shoulder width, and overall comfort first hand.

This is particularly useful because no two bucket seats feel exactly the same. Two seats may have very similar measurements on paper, but the angle of the backrest, the depth of the base cushion, the position of the leg bolsters, and the shape of the shoulder supports can completely change how a seat fits. By displaying the entire Mirco FIA range together, customers can move from one model to the next and quickly identify which seat feels the most comfortable and supportive for their driving position.

Our display also makes it much easier to compare seats designed for completely different applications. Some models are better suited to compact track day cars where interior space is limited, while others have been developed specifically for larger drivers or high-level motorsport where maximum support and driver containment are essential. Seeing the whole range together removes much of the guesswork and gives customers confidence they’re choosing the right seat for both themselves and their vehicle.

Whether you’re buying your first FIA bucket seat or replacing an existing one, being able to compare every Mirco model side by side is something that’s difficult to replicate when shopping online alone.

The Mirco GT

The Mirco GT has consistently been one of our most popular FIA bucket seats, and it’s easy to see why. It strikes an excellent balance between comfort, support, and practicality, making it suitable for everything from dedicated track day builds to competitive race and rally cars.

Our latest delivery includes both the standard black velour version and the breathable 3D spacer fabric model, allowing customers to compare the different upholstery options as well as the seat itself. The 3D spacer material offers improved airflow, making it a popular upgrade for drivers who spend long periods behind the wheel during warmer weather or endurance events.

The GT has been designed with a compact shell and a relatively narrow hip area, making it particularly well suited to smaller drivers and vehicles where cockpit space is limited. Cars such as the Mazda MX-5, Toyota MR2, Renault Clio, Honda Civic, and many classic performance cars can often benefit from the GT’s slimline profile, where larger bucket seats may simply not fit comfortably.

Despite its compact dimensions, the GT still provides excellent support through the hips, legs, and shoulders. The deep side bolsters help keep the driver securely positioned during hard cornering without making the seat feel overly restrictive, while the overall seating position offers a comfortable balance for both competition and track day driving.

Recommended driver waist: 28 to 32 inches.

Mirco RTS-2

Moving up in size, the Mirco RTS-2 has been developed specifically for drivers who require additional space without compromising on support.

Compared to the GT, the RTS-2 offers noticeably more room around the hips while maintaining the same deep bucket design that Mirco seats are well known for. This makes it an excellent option for larger drivers who often struggle to find a comfortable FIA-approved seat that still provides the security needed for motorsport.

The higher side bolsters and deeper seating position help keep the driver firmly located within the seat, particularly during heavy braking and high-speed cornering. Although it’s physically larger than the GT, it still feels very supportive thanks to its carefully shaped shell and generous leg supports.

Many customers who sit in both the GT and RTS-2 immediately notice the extra room available without losing the secure feeling expected from a competition seat. It’s a popular choice for race, rally, drifting, and sprint events where long periods in the car demand both comfort and support.

Recommended driver waist: 34 to 40 inches.

Mirco RTX-7

The RTX-7 is the most aggressive traditional bucket seat currently on our Mirco display. It has been designed for drivers who want maximum body support, particularly in high-grip competition cars where reducing driver movement can improve both comfort and control.

One of the first things customers notice is the substantial shoulder containment. The large wrap-around shoulder bolsters provide excellent upper body support, helping to keep the driver securely positioned during fast changes of direction and sustained cornering loads.

Although the shoulder section is larger than the RTS-2, the seat is actually narrower around the hips. This gives the RTX-7 a unique fit, sitting between the GT and RTS-2 in overall width while offering considerably more upper body support than either model.

The deep bucket base and pronounced leg supports further enhance the driving position, making the RTX-7 an excellent option for circuit racing, time attack, drifting, and other forms of competitive motorsport where high levels of lateral support are a priority.

Recommended driver waist: 30 to 36 inches.

The Mirco Classic FIA

Not every driver wants an aggressive motorsport seat, and that’s exactly where the Mirco Classic fits into the range.

The Classic retains FIA approval while offering a much more relaxed seating position compared to Mirco’s deeper competition shells. The lower side bolsters make getting in and out of the vehicle much easier, while the wider, more open design provides excellent comfort for longer journeys and road-focused builds.

One of the standout features is the flared hip area, allowing the seat to comfortably accommodate a wider variety of body shapes without feeling restrictive. Combined with the relatively flat base cushion and modest shoulder support, the Classic is often chosen for historic race cars, classic road cars, touring builds, and projects where maintaining comfort is just as important as meeting FIA regulations.

Although it’s the least aggressive seat in the FIA range, it still provides considerably more support than a standard production seat and remains perfectly suited to many forms of motorsport.

Mirco RS1, RS2 and RS7

For customers looking to compete at a higher level of motorsport, the Mirco RS series represents the next step in driver protection and support.

All three seats feature integrated head supports, deep bucket bases, high leg bolsters, and substantial shoulder containment. This style of seat is becoming increasingly popular across modern circuit racing, rallying, drifting, and endurance competition, where keeping the driver’s head and upper body stable is an important part of both comfort and safety.

Although the overall design remains consistent across the range, each model has been developed to suit a different size of driver.

The RS1 is the most compact version and suits drivers looking for a snug, race-focused fit. Its narrower hips and shoulders make it ideal for slimmer drivers, with a recommended waist size of approximately 28 to 34 inches.

The RS2 increases the internal dimensions slightly while maintaining the same supportive design. It sits neatly between the RS1 and RS7, making it one of the most versatile options in the head-supported range for medium-sized drivers.

The RS7 is the largest model and has become a popular choice for customers who require additional room around both the hips and shoulders without sacrificing the benefits of a full containment seat. Recommended for drivers with a waist size of around 32 to 38 inches, it offers excellent comfort alongside the high levels of support expected from a modern FIA competition seat.

Being able to compare all three RS models in person is particularly valuable, as the differences in size become immediately obvious once you sit in each one. Customers can quickly determine which shell provides the best combination of comfort, support, and driving position before placing an order, helping to avoid the uncertainty that often comes with choosing a bucket seat based solely on dimensions and photographs.

Non-FIA Track Day Options Also Available

While Mirco is best known for its FIA-approved competition seats, the range also includes several excellent options for customers who don’t necessarily need FIA homologation. These seats are ideal for fast road cars, weekend track day builds, simulator setups, and project cars where comfort, support, and styling are the main priorities.

One of the latest additions to our showroom is the Mirco XL. Designed for larger drivers, it provides a much more generous fit than many traditional bucket seats while still delivering the secure driving position that Mirco seats are known for. The wider shell makes it an excellent choice for customers who have found many FIA seats to be too narrow, while its supportive shape keeps the driver comfortably positioned during spirited road driving and occasional track use.

Alongside the XL, we also have the Mirco S3000 on display. This has become a popular choice for drivers who like the appearance and additional upper body support of a modern head-supported bucket seat but don’t require FIA approval. It offers many of the styling cues found on Mirco’s competition seats, including integrated head supports and a deep bucketed design, making it a great option for modified road cars and track day projects.

Our current showroom S3000 is finished in a bespoke black and grey trim combination, giving customers a great example of the customisation options Mirco can offer. It stands out from the standard upholstery and demonstrates how subtle changes to the trim colours can completely transform the appearance of a seat while maintaining a factory-quality finish.

Like the FIA range, the S3000 and other non-FIA Mirco seats can also be ordered with a huge selection of bespoke options. With over 250 different combinations of colours, stitching, embroidery, trim materials, and finishes available, customers can create a seat that complements the interior of their vehicle or matches an existing motorsport theme. Whether you’re after a subtle OEM-inspired finish or something much more eye-catching, the level of personalisation available is one of the reasons Mirco has become such a popular choice for enthusiasts.
