The Cosworth range
Four kits for the three-door Sierra Cosworth, all Multipoint weld-in. The Factory Style 25CrMo4 kit is the most expensive at £2,394. It uses 25CrMo4 chromoly, a tube grade distinct from both CDS and T45, built to the specification Custom Cages developed for the RS500 market. The CDS and T45 Multipoint kits cover the more common club and national competition build paths. Two T45 kits are listed at different price points. Tell Cameron the championship and build spec and he will confirm which suits the build before you order.
CDS Multipoint
Entry into the weld-in Cosworth range at £1,683. CDS built to the Motorsport UK published specification covers most club and national competition builds.
T45 Multipoint
Two T45 kits at £1,674 and £2,273. T45 earns its place for national and international championship builds or where the class regulations ask for it specifically.
Factory Style 25CrMo4
£2,394. Uses 25CrMo4 chromoly, built to the RS500 specification. Tell Cameron the championship and he will confirm whether this is what the regs require.
The Sapphire range
Two kits for the four-door Sierra Sapphire Cosworth: CDS Multipoint at £1,188 and T45 Multipoint at £1,604. Both are weld-in. The Sapphire has a following in club rally and sprint. If you are not certain whether CDS or T45 is what the championship wants, ring 0115 9893488 and Cameron will go through the regs with you before you commit.
The Sierra range covers club sprint and track day through to national stage rally and circuit championships. Ring 0115 9893488 or use the contact page and Cameron will confirm the exact kit and steel for your build before you order. Garreth can advise on seat and fitting frame options too if you are building the car from scratch.
Common questions about the Sierra range
What is the Factory Style 25CrMo4 kit and who is it for?
The Factory Style kit uses 25CrMo4 chromoly, a tube grade Custom Cages built to the RS500 specification. It is distinct from both CDS and T45. If your championship asks for 25CrMo4 or you are building a period-correct competition car, this is the kit to look at. Tell Cameron the event name and he will confirm whether it is what the regs require before you order.
Why are there two T45 Cosworth kits at different prices?
Both are Multipoint T45 weld-in kits for the Sierra Cosworth, listed by Custom Cages at different price points. The spec difference is not stated in the product titles. Ring 0115 9893488 and Cameron will go through both listings and tell you which suits the build.
Should I choose CDS or T45 for the Sierra?
For most club sprint, track day and stage rally builds, CDS built to the Motorsport UK published specification is the right starting point. T45 earns its place once the championship asks for a higher-spec cage or the specific kit you need comes only in T45. Our T45 vs CDS guide covers the full decision.
Does the Sierra Cosworth kit fit the RS500 body?
The RS500 shares its shell with the standard three-door Sierra Cosworth. The Factory Style 25CrMo4 kit was developed to the RS500 specification. Ring 0115 9893488 and Cameron will confirm the fit for your exact car.
What other Ford guides are in the programme?
The Ford Escort guide is live now. Guides for the Fiesta and Focus and the classic Ford range (Capri, Anglia, Cortina and Mustang) will follow as the programme runs. Ring 0115 9893488 in the meantime and Garreth can tell you what is available now.
Where this leads
For the steel decision on its own, our T45 vs CDS roll cage steel guide covers what the Motorsport UK specification actually requires and where T45 earns its place over CDS. The Ford Escort guide is live if you have an Escort project alongside a Sierra build. The full Custom Cages range covers everything else we hold.
Ring 0115 9893488 and Cameron will go through the chassis, the class and the steel with you.
