Cobra Monaco Pro 40th Edition Seats In Stealth Black
Customer order, March 2020
We recently had a pair of Cobra Monaco Pro 40th Edition seats built for a customer, finished with black stitching and black logos. Here they are on our showroom display.
We are very taken with the stealth look this gives. With everything in black, the shape of the seat does the talking, and the ribbed backrest panels stand out without a single colour on them.
- A pair of Cobra Monaco Pro 40th Edition seats, built for a customer
- Black vinyl with black stitching and black logos
- Over 20 stitching and logo colour options were offered
- FIA 8855-1999 homologated steel plated shell
- Slots for a 4 or 6 point harness

What is on this page
The stealth look
A 40th Edition can be ordered with stitching that picks out a colour on the car. This pair goes the other way: black vinyl, black stitching and a black logo embossed into the headrest. On the display the pair look very purposeful, and they will suit almost any interior.
If black is not for you, the same seat was available with over 20 different stitching and logo colour options, so it can be matched to a car’s paint, its interior or a team livery.
From the front you can see the details that make the 40th Edition: the horizontal ribs across the backrest, the rows of eyelets and the Cobra name moulded into the headrest.
The 40th Edition is Cobra's anniversary trim on the Monaco shell. The shell, construction and FIA approval are the standard Monaco; what changes is the finish.

What the Monaco Pro gives you
Underneath the trim, the Monaco is a fully steel plated seat with a solid back and base, an integral head pad and shoulder support. It is FIA 8855-1999 homologated, it can be base mounted or side mounted, and it has slots for a 4 or 6 point harness.
The steel plating makes it heavier than a fibreglass seat, at 11.4kg, which is worth knowing if weight matters in your class. The standard Monaco shell suits drivers under 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist, and Cobra makes narrower and wider versions of the same shape.
Ordering your own
Looking for a set of Cobra Monaco seats for your project? The Monaco comes in several styles, approvals and sizes, so the first job is making sure the shell fits you. Garreth’s advice is to send your height and waist, and the car, before you pick colours, so we can confirm the seat, frames and mounts in one go. For more ideas on trims, our look at Cobra special editions and the cars they suit is worth a read.
