The SW Motorsport BMW M3 E30 Direct Fit Subframe is a steel seat base for the right-hand drive BMW M3 E30. SW list this part for the BMW E30, and the BMW M3 E30 shares that floor. It bolts straight to the car’s factory seat mounting holes, so the floor needs no drilling or fabrication. SW make one part that suits either side, and it is priced per side, so a pair of seats needs two.
This is the layer between the floor and your seat. Side mounts or a slider kit bolt to it and the seat goes on those, and SW pre-drill it for most popular slider kits. They say it takes wide and tall bucket seats as well as smaller ones. It is 4mm mild steel with a textured black powder coat.
You get one base per side. Part number SW-SM-0197. Side mounts, sliders, mounting bolts and harness eye bolts are not included, so add those to the order if you do not already have them.
Not sure it suits your car or seat? Drop us an email or click to open a chat with your registration and the seat you run, and we will check it. The rest of the range is under SW Motorsports car fitting frames.
Which other cars do SW make frames for, and what should I add to this one?
Our guide to every SW Motorsport seat frame lists them by car, and covers side mounts, sliders and the seats we would start with.
Does this same frame fit other models?
Yes, the same frame fits the BMW E30 and BMW E30 325i.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on SW frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
This one part suits either side, so pick the side you want it for at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us.
