What houndstooth trim actually means on a seat
Worth clearing up first, because it decides what you order. Houndstooth goes on the centre panels, the bits you sit against on the cushion and up the middle of the backrest. The bolsters and the outer edges stay plain, in vinyl or leather.
That is true of all of them. The Sparco GT Houndstooth Edition arrives from Sparco with the check already on the centres. On the Cobras you are choosing a trim combination when you order, and the option reads exactly like this on the product page: black vinyl outers with black houndstooth centres, or black leather outers with black houndstooth centres.
Nobody sells a seat that is houndstooth all over, and you would not want one. The check goes on the panels you sit against.

The split that matters to your wallet is vinyl outers against leather outers. The vinyl seats start at £409.00 and the leather versions of the same shells are £769.00 and up. Any other seat: Signature and custom workThe 24 above are the shortcut, not the limit. Cobra will trim houndstooth on any seat in their range through the Signature service, and Mirco do the same as custom work, so a Sebring, a Misano, a Roadster 7 or a Mirco RTS-2 are all fair game even though houndstooth is not a tick box on those listings. Just the fabric

This is the one people forget about. A pair of houndstooth seats in a car with plain door cards can look half finished, and a couple of metres of matching fabric to a local trimmer sorts it for less than most people expect.

How many seats can you actually do in houndstooth?
Any Cobra or Mirco seat, if you are happy to have it built to order. 24 of them need no conversation at all: 9 ready made editions with houndstooth in the name, and 15 Cobra seats where houndstooth is a trim option you select on the page. Plus the fabric.
Does houndstooth cost more than plain trim?
Not on the Cobras. The patterned centres are priced the same as the plain version of that seat, so you are choosing on looks and nothing else. What does change the price is vinyl outers against leather.
Is the whole seat houndstooth?
