The Cobra Classic RSR in tartan, the tall version of the Classic steel-frame shell. Part number Cobra Classic RSR-Tartan.
The RSR shell is 820mm tall, 480mm wide, 480mm square base, 760mm deep. Weight 8.5kg. The 820mm height is 110mm taller than the standard Classic (710mm). That additional height extends the back into head and neck support territory where the standard Classic stops at shoulder level. In cars where headroom allows it, the RSR provides meaningfully more upper-body support from the same shell family.
The Classic family is built for tight interiors: narrow classic cars, early Japanese sports cars, and similar. The 480mm width is compact by modern standards. Tartan centre panels in vinyl surround, black stitching. All heights and waist sizes. Base mount only, 291mm bolt pattern. No FIA approval. Road and track. Made to order, four to six weeks. Driver or passenger side at checkout. Seat only.
Eight tartan patterns: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern, and Weir Ancient.
For comparison: the standard Classic Tartan (226970, 710mm) is 110mm shorter and 2.5kg lighter. The RSR is the choice where the car has the headroom to use the extra back height.
