The Sparco Grid Q (S008009RNR) is an FIA 8855-1999 homologated bucket seat, fibreglass shell, fabric trim, side-mount only. At £365, it sits just above the Rev QRT (S008014RNR, £345) in the range and below the Evo QRT (S008007RNR, £475).

The main practical difference between the Grid Q and the Rev QRT is the trim. The Grid Q uses fabric, which is more breathable and holds its shape better over time than the velour on the Rev. Both seats carry HANS compatibility and the same FIA 8855-1999 approval, so the choice comes down to trim preference and how the seat feels in the shell.

Driver waist size is listed as 32 to 36 inches. The seat accepts a 6-point harness, which is what most UK circuit series expect in a fixed-back bucket. HANS is confirmed compatible.

FIA 8855-1999 is the standard used in most UK club racing series. If you’re competing in a series that has moved to requiring FIA 8862-2009 seats, check your sporting regulations before ordering, as the two standards are different homologations.

Sold as seat only. You’ll need Sparco’s FIA steel side mounts (SS004902) and a vehicle-specific sub-frame alongside this. If you need help working out which sub-frame suits the car, let us know the make and model and we’ll confirm it. Part number S008009RNR.

Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers with a 32in to 36in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us and we will give you the honest answer.

What do I need to fit it to my car?
