PCI Racing standard adjustable side mounts. Part number SM-SIDE-A1.
The starting point of PCI’s side mount range, and the one most installations want. Standard height, no set back, and adjustable rather than sliding, which means it gives the lowest and most rigid fitment of anything they make.
The range, and how to choose
PCI make side mounts in a grid. First, adjustable or slider: adjustable sits lower and does not move, a slider gives fore and aft travel and costs you height. Then the variations: standard, a 6 inch tall version for cars where the seat has to sit higher, a 1.5 inch set back for tall drivers who run out of rearward travel, and a set back and tall version that does both.
Work out which problem you have before you order. Height and set back are different fixes.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with bends placed to add stiffness where thicker metal would otherwise be needed. Gloss black powder coat.
Before you order
Tell us the seat, the car and what you are mounting to. Universal means it fits a range rather than everything, and we would rather measure it with you than have you order twice.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Can I Use Harnesses with My Standard Road Car Seat?, and Customer Question: Can I Use a 5/6 Point Harness With a Standard Seat or Recliner?. Some of that comes straight from real customer questions, so you are reading answers other buyers actually needed.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on PCI frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a side-mount frame: the seat hangs between side brackets bolted through its flanks, the motorsport-style stack that gives fine height and angle control. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
