The Takata Race Civic EG Bucket Seat Package includes a Takata Race LE competition bucket seat with Civic EG-specific side mount brackets and a Takata Drift III Snap-On harness. The EG is the fifth-generation Civic, produced from 1992 to 1995 as the generation that immediately preceded the EK.
The EG6 SiR was one of the first Civic bodies to carry a VTEC engine, using the B16A with its cam profile change at 5,500rpm. That VTEC crossover point became well known among UK enthusiasts who had not previously experienced a performance Honda. The UK did not receive an official Type R based on the EG body; the first production Civic Type R sold here was the EK9. This makes EG-based competition builds in the UK typically reliant on imported Japanese-specification SiR mechanicals, which keeps the platform more involved to develop than the EK but also means EG builds in club motorsport are often distinguished by the effort put into sourcing the correct components.
The EG and EK share the B-series engine family and have certain mechanical similarities, but their floor geometries differ. The brackets in this package are specific to the EG and will not transfer to the EK. If the car is an EK, the separate Civic EK package is the correct option.
The Drift III harness is Road and Track approved, not FIA competition legal. Package options: Seat Width (Standard or Excel Width), Sport Seat Position (RHD Driver Side or RHD Passenger Side), Webbing Colour (Black or Green).
For the standalone Race LE seat: Takata Race LE Competition Bucket Seat.
Packages are assembled to order including the vehicle-specific bracket set; lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from order. If you need the seat for a specific event, drop us an email or click to open a chat and we will confirm the schedule.
