Ford Mustang S550 Bucket Seat Guide
Seat mounts for the 2015-2023 S550
The first question for a Mustang seat change is which generation is on the drive. Cameron would confirm the chassis before comparing mounts. Garreth would use the S550 parts below as the starting point for a sixth-generation car.
Cameron would also ask whether you need the seat to slide. Garreth would settle that before choosing between the Planted bracket and the two PCI mounting arrangements.
Keep this guide with the S550 generation
This guide covers the sixth-generation S550 Mustang, from 2015 to 2023. Read product titles that say “2015+” alongside the application and part number. Confirm the chassis if the car is near a generation change.
For a 2024-on S650, or an earlier S197 or Fox-body car, ask us to check the correct application separately. A shared Mustang badge does not establish the floor mounting pattern.
Three current mounting routes
- Planted SB239: a vehicle-specific floor bracket. Choose the seat, runner and any side mounts as a matched assembly.
- PCI SM-15FM-S1 family: a sliding mount with its own side-mount arrangement. Confirm the left or right version when ordering.
- PCI SM-15FM-A1 family: the adjustable seat-mount listing, for a different adjustment arrangement from the sliding version.
PCI lists its Mustang sliding mounts for 2015-on cars and supplies the side mounts as part of that system. Check the included pieces before adding anything else. An extra universal runner or second set of side mounts can duplicate parts already in the assembly.

A floor bracket is one part of the fit
Confirm the exact seat model, mounting-hole spacing and outside shell width before ordering.
A side-mounted bucket and a base-mounted reclining seat need different connections above the floor bracket. The height of the whole assembly also matters: bracket, runner, mounts and seat together determine where you sit. Check door clearance and steering wheel reach in the position you intend to use.
Which arrangement would we choose?
For a shared car, we would look at the amount of sliding adjustment required first. For a dedicated driving position, we would compare the adjustment range and installed height of the relevant PCI option against a bracket-based assembly.
Send the seat model and the side of the car through our contact page so we can check the current options.

Build the order around your car
For your S550, Cameron would start with the seat model, mounting side and adjustment you need, then Garreth would narrow the order to the parts that suit the car and your driving position.
Send us those details through our contact page, or call 0115 647 8650 and we can work through the options with you.
