This Recaro sub-frame (part number 861517-1971) fits the SEAT Leon Mk1, produced from 1999 to 2005. The Leon Mk1 was built on the Golf IV platform and became one of the more focused hot hatches of its generation: the CUPRA made 180 bhp from launch, rising to 225 bhp in the CUPRA R. That final specification made it a genuine trackday car, and the Leon Mk1 CUPRA R remains sought after. The sub-frame fits the Leon’s factory floor mounts with no modification.

The Golf IV platform cars share underpinning but their cabin packages differ, and a Golf sub-frame will not necessarily replicate the correct seat position in a Leon because the B-pillar geometry and seat mounting heights are different. This sub-frame is engineered for the Leon Mk1 specifically, keeping the seat at the right height for the car’s seatbelt anchor. Fore-aft runners are included.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
