The SEAT Alhambra Mk1 ran from 1996 to 2010 and was a joint project between SEAT and Volkswagen, sharing its platform with the VW Sharan and the Ford Galaxy. All three were built at the same AutoEuropa plant in Portugal. It is a large seven-seat MPV with a long wheelbase and a floor design that differs considerably from any standard hatchback.
Part number 687819 is the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame for the Alhambra. It attaches to the factory floor fixing positions in the front row, carrying the Recaro seat at the correct height and angle for the vehicle. Fore-aft sliding adjustment is included, so the seat keeps its longitudinal travel. The sub-frame was produced specifically for the Alhambra floor plan, which is not interchangeable with the VW Sharan or Ford Galaxy despite their shared origin.
The front row is where the driver and front passenger sit in a car like this, and neither gets the ergonomic benefit of the rear bench design. A Recaro Sport or Sportster CS changes the front driving position substantially, particularly on longer journeys where the Alhambra’s size often means motorway and A-road miles rather than city use.
This sub-frame fits Recaro brand seats only. It is suitable for base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted competition shells require adaptor bars and are a separate conversation. Pricing covers one sub-frame, which handles one seat position.
