The Rover 25 and its close relative the Rover 200 used the PG1 platform, a compact front-wheel-drive design that also underpinned the MG ZR. The Rover 25 was sold from 1999 to 2005 and occupies the same general size class as the Golf Mk4. The MG ZR version of the same car was the more overtly sporting variant, with stiffer suspension and a Rover K-Series engine that owners pushed harder.
Part number REC36OE1338 is the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame for the Rover 25 and 200. It uses the factory floor mounting points without drilling and includes fore-aft running gear so the Recaro seat slides normally. The PG1 floor uses British Leyland-era mounting geometry that is unique to this platform family, which is why a sub-frame produced for this car is not transferable to a contemporary VW or Peugeot equivalent.
The ZR in particular attracted owners who used the car for track days and sprint events, and the demand for a properly fitted Recaro seat in an MG ZR is a known one in the club scene. The Rover 25 and 200 share the same fixing positions, so this sub-frame covers all variants across the two nameplates.
This sub-frame is designed for Recaro seats only and fits base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted shells need separate adaptor bars. The listed price covers one position, either driver or passenger. If you are fitting both front seats, you need two units. Tell us your Recaro model when ordering and we will confirm everything is included.
