The Renault Scenic Mk1 appeared in 1996 and is widely credited as the car that established the compact MPV segment in Europe. It replaced the front row of the Megane hatchback body with a taller cabin, added sliding rear seats, and created a format that sold in very large numbers. It ran until 2003 and was built on the Megane’s PF2 platform. The floor in the Scenic’s front row sits differently than the Megane’s because of the raised seating position built into the MPV design.
Part number 869216-1959 is the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame for the Scenic Mk1. It attaches to the factory floor fixing points without cutting or welding and includes integrated runners for fore-aft travel. Recaro produced this specifically for the Scenic’s floor plan, not the Megane or Laguna that share the same basic platform.
Scenic owners fitting a Recaro seat often do so for driver comfort on longer journeys. The Scenic’s role as a family car on motorways and cross-country routes is well established, and even the standard seat positions suffer from the same fatigue over distance that affects most MPVs. The Sportster CS is a common fitment in this car.
This sub-frame works with Recaro seats only. It covers base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted competition shells need different hardware. Pricing is per sub-frame, covering one seat. Two needed for both front positions. Give us your Recaro model when you order and we will check the kit is complete.
