PCI make one thing and they make it for a specific list of cars. A frame that bolts to your factory seat mount holes and holds a side mount bucket properly, with no drilling, no welding and no modifying. We hold 107 of them. The whole brand comes down to one question, and it is a £65 question, so give it two minutes before you order.
A Sliding Sub Frame is £275 and an Adjustable Seat Mount is £200 to £230. They are the same frame. The difference is that the Sliding Sub Frame includes PCI’s S1 sliders and the Adjustable Seat Mount does not. Sliders let you move the seat once it is in. If one person drives the car, you may not need them.
One piece of steel, bent rather than thickened
PCI Racing is Pro Car Innovations, out of Southern California. Vehicle specific seat frames and side mounts, and not much else. Every frame is laser cut and CNC bent from a single piece of 1/8 inch, 3mm carbon steel, then powder coated.
The thin steel throws people, and PCI argue their own corner on it. A lot of the trade uses 3/16 inch, and PCI’s case is that a one piece design puts strength where it is needed through shape and bends rather than through mass, that 3/16 inch is the easier and cheaper thing to manufacture, and that it becomes the only option once you are welding mounting legs on. Their claim is that the mount will exceed the strength of the seat and the floor it is bolted to.
The part we rate is the fitment. These go into the factory seat mount holes with nothing modified, they carry 5 and 6 point sub belt mounting locations, and the sliders bolt to the base with four bolts a side instead of the usual two. It is the cleanest bucket seat install we sell for the cars they cover.

02Adjustable Seat Mount
The same frame without the sliders, £200 to £230. Bolts to the same holes, adjusts the same way, but once the seat is set it stays there. Saves £45 to £75.
03Side mounts on their own
Eight patterns at £80 to £85. Standard, 6 inch tall, 1.5 inch set back, narrow and wide, and the combinations of those. The answer when a seat sits wrong rather than does not fit.
04Universal sliders
The PCI S1 sliders on their own at £90. Heavier gauge steel, hardened roller balls, four lower mounting holes per slider and a 355mm release handle.
05Pairs
Eight of the popular frames sold two at a time at £550 or £630. Cheaper than buying two singles, and the usual answer for a track car where both seats are going.
06What it fits
Standard side mounts adjust 375mm to 445mm across and 246mm front to back. PCI list Cobra and Corbeau standard size only, plus Mirco and Sparco. Wide shells need checking.
Four questions, and the first is most of the job
Get the first two right and the order will be correct.
Do you want sliders?
This is the whole decision and it is £45 to £75 either way. A Sliding Sub Frame at £275 includes PCI’s S1 sliders, which let you move the seat fore and aft after it is fitted. An Adjustable Seat Mount at £200 to £230 is the same frame without them, so the seat is set on installation and stays there. Two drivers, or a car that also gets used on the road, buy the sliding version. One driver, dedicated track car, and the adjustable mount is money saved rather than corners cut.
Will your seat actually fit the side mounts?
The standard side mounts adjust from 375mm to 445mm across, and 97 of these listings specify Cobra and Corbeau in standard size only, along with Mirco and Sparco side mount seats. If you have a wide or XL shell, and Corbeau XL and the wider Cobra seats are the common ones, do not assume. There are only two wide base frames in the range, for the S2000 and the 911. Are you expecting to sit lower?
Then read this one twice. A PCI frame bolts to the factory seat mount locations, so it is built around fitment and adjustment rather than around dropping your hip point. The Mazda MX5 Mk3 listing puts it in capitals: you will not sit lower than standard. If height is the problem you are trying to solve, that is a conversation about the seat and the mounting rather than about the frame.
Which side of the car?
Driver and passenger are listed as separate options on the same product because the floor is not symmetrical, and every frame here is a right hand drive fitment. One frame does one seat. If you are doing both, check the pairs first, because eight of the popular ones come two at a time and it works out cheaper.
Nine times out of ten someone rings up asking which PCI frame is the better one, and there is no better one. It is the same frame twice. The £275 version comes with the sliders in the box and the £210 version does not. That is it. If your other half drives the car, or you use it on the road as well as on track, buy the sliding one and stop thinking about it. If it is a one driver track car, take the cheaper one and put the difference towards the seat.

The parts that fix a fitting problem
Sold separately for when the seat is in but sitting wrong. Universal S1 sliders at £90, and side mounts from £80. The 6 inch tall raises the seat, the 1.5 inch set back moves it rearward for a taller driver, and there are narrow and wide patterns too.

Read the middle column properly before you save the money. An Adjustable Seat Mount is not a cut down frame. Same steel, same fitment, same bolt holes, same width and sub belt provision. The only thing it gives up is moving the seat once it is bolted down. If that genuinely does not matter to you, it is the better buy.

Put the two parts lists side by side and the Sliding Sub Frame at £275 contains a frame kit, a set of sliders, a set of side mounts and a bolt pack, and the Adjustable Seat Mount at £200 to £230 contains the same list without the sliders. Both bolt to the factory seat mount locations, both give you the same width and height adjustment. The sliders are what lets you move the seat fore and aft once it is in.
So do I need the sliders?▾
If more than one person drives the car, yes, and most people should just buy the Sliding Sub Frame. If it is a track car with one driver, or a car where you want the seat as far back as it goes and left there, the Adjustable Seat Mount saves you between £45 and £75 and gives up nothing else. That is the whole decision on this brand.

What comes in the box?▾
A Sliding Sub Frame is a complete kit: frame, sliders, side mounts, and the full bolt pack in grade 10.9 8mm hardware. Nothing needs modifying and nothing needs drilling. It also has 5 and 6 point sub belt mounting locations built in, which saves you working out where the crotch strap goes. Side mounts are powder coated and come with quarter inch nylon spacers.
