The Galaxy is a large people carrier that sees serious motorway mileage: airport runs, school term commutes, and the kind of four-hour motorway cruises that expose every shortcoming in the standard seat. Ford’s OEM front seats in the Galaxy are functional but give limited lumbar adjustment and very little lateral support for a large car that is capable of keeping a brisk pace on a long run.
Part 869716 is Recaro’s direct-fit sub-frame for the Galaxy. Note that this shares the same base part code (869716) with the later S-Max frame (869716-1837), which is a different platform. If you have both models in mind, confirm the specific vehicle against the part number before ordering. The Galaxy kit uses the OEM floor points, carries integrated sliding runners, and positions the seat at the height Recaro tested for the Galaxy’s floor. In a tall-floor MPV, keeping the seat at the correct height is more important than in a low saloon.
One frame per seat. These work with Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats. Side-mounted competition shells require separate adaptor bars.
