A Sparco direct fit sub-frame for the Audi A4. Part number 00499074.

This is the bracketry that lets a sports seat bolt into the A4 on the car’s own floor mounting points. It replaces or adapts what the factory seat sat on and gives you a flat 345mm by 271mm base for the new seat. The alternative is fabricating, and on a car that is still used on the road that is the part of a seat swap worth paying to get right.

What it takes

Base mount seats on the 345mm by 271mm pattern, which covers Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats. Older text on the sub-frame range said same brand only. It was wrong. The compatible seats list here is accurate.

A side mount bucket needs side mounts or adaption bars fitted on top of the frame. It will not sit on the frame on its own.

Ordering it

One frame per seat. If you want both sides, add it twice and choose RHD driver on one and RHD passenger on the other, because these are handed.

Tell us the seat you are pairing it with in the comments when you order. Sub-frames in this range vary by car between a full replacement frame and a set of adaption bars, and the photograph on the page is illustrative rather than a picture of the A4 part. We check the combination before dispatch.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Audi A4. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern). The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Sparco frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.

Less common models and colours are ordered in for you and take longer.
