Since the COVID-19 lockdown began, we have seen a sharp rise in customers looking to upgrade the seat in their sim rig. With the circuits closed and everyone staying at home, it is a good time to get some practice in, and sitting comfortably makes a big difference over a long session.
Here is how we are handling orders at the moment, what to expect on lead times and delivery, and a few pointers on choosing the right seat for your rig.

Processing lead times
While the COVID-19 restrictions are in place, our showroom and shop are closed and the team is working part hours from home. We are aiming to process orders every one to two days.
Delivery times vary a lot depending on the seat you choose, because some come from stock and others are made to order. We expect most lead times to fall between 7 and 20 working days. If you want to know where a particular seat stands, contact us before you order and we will check stock for you.
Delivery lead times
Seats are big, awkward items and have to travel with couriers who handle oversized parcels. On 20 April 2020 Parcelforce suspended its large parcel services to manage volumes and keep its teams safe, so we are using other delivery methods for now. That can add time, so please contact us in advance if you need delivery information.
For the same reason, we are not offering advance dispatch or faster shipping at the moment. If you need a seat by a set date, ask us first and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic. We appreciate your understanding that these are not essential products in the fight against COVID-19.
Choosing a seat for your rig
The first question is what the seat has to bolt to. A rig or cockpit with a seat mounting plate will usually take a bucket seat on side mounts or a reclining seat on runners, while a desk set-up like the one in the photo above needs a seat on an office chair base.
After that it comes down to fit and comfort. A fixed back bucket gives the most realistic hold, a reclining sport seat is kinder over a long evening, and a racing office chair doubles as a desk chair when you are not driving.
