Tillett Seats Updated For 2022

Seat range news, July 2022

We have just been through our whole Tillett range. Every seat and every piece of Tillett fitting equipment has updated information, the seats now offer a coloured logo option, and the new Tillett B8 has joined the range.

Tillett seats are a little different from most of what we sell, so here is what has changed and where the new seat fits.

  • Our whole Tillett range has been updated for 2022
  • Coloured logos are now an option on Tillett seats
  • Listings now cover weight, ideal use and design features
  • Matching side mounts and runners are bundled with the right seats
  • New: the Tillett B8, in GRP and in carbon and GRP

What makes a Tillett different

Tillett started out making kart seats, and their car seats carry the same idea across. They are very light, rigid shells designed to be used with little or no padding, which gives the driver more of that direct feel from the chassis that you get in a kart.

Running with little padding also lets you sit lower in the car than in most other seats, which is why Tillett seats are popular with taller drivers who need to get their head further from the roof or the cage.

What we have changed

Every Tillett seat now has the option of a coloured logo, with a range of colours to choose from, so you can make the seat your own. Each listing has also been rewritten with the weight, the ideal use for the seat and its design features, so it is easier to compare one shell with another.

The bigger change is on the fitting side. Tillett make their own side mounts, shaped to fit particular Tillett seats, and sliding runner kits to let the seat move backwards and forwards. We have now bundled the correct side mounts and runners with the seats they are made for, so the seat and the fitting kit you buy together are known to work together.

The new Tillett B8

New for 2022 is the B8, available in GRP (fibreglass) and in a carbon and GRP version for drivers who want to save more weight. The B8 holds the driver at an angle that suits regular production sports cars, so it is aimed at the fast road car that also goes on track.

It uses Tillett's twin skin construction, which is what makes the shell rigid without a steel frame behind it. The B8 is a road and track seat and is not FIA homologated, so if your championship needs an approved seat, look at the B6 Screamer or the B7 instead.

The B6 Screamer

The B6 Screamer remains one of our best selling Tillett seats. Its belt holes sit higher for taller drivers, the back of the seat is a compact shape that helps it clear roll bars, and it can be used comfortably without padding, so you can sit lower than in most seats. It carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation.

Garreth’s advice with any Tillett is to tell us the car and your height and waist before ordering. Some shells come in more than one width, and getting that right matters more than anything else on the order.

Our Tillett listings got fuller information, a coloured logo option on the seats, and bundled side mounts and runners matched to each seat.

It is a Tillett seat shaped for production sports cars, available in GRP and in carbon and GRP.

No. The B8 is a road and track seat without FIA homologation.

The B6 Screamer carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation, and the B7 is also an FIA seat.
