The Takata Street Pro LE Seats Arrive In-Store For 2022

A pair of Takata Street Pro LE reclining sports seats has just arrived in our showroom for one of our customers. We like the look of these: wide shoulder supports and tall thigh bolsters give them a sporty shape, and the trim would suit a lot of different interiors.
They are covered in black 3D spacer fabric with green stitching, with carbon effect vinyl on the areas that take the most wear. Here is a closer look at the seat and the harnesses that go with it.

The trim up close
The centre panels are black spacer fabric, a breathable mesh that keeps you cooler than a solid cloth. On the bolsters, where you slide in and out, Takata use a carbon fibre look vinyl, which protects the parts of the seat that wear first.
The green stitching runs across the back and the base, and the Takata logo is embroidered on the front and back of the headrest. It is a subtle combination that looks right in a black interior.
The Street Pro LE seat
The Street Pro LE is built on a tubular steel frame, and it is designed for comfort and support in spirited driving. It is at home on the road and on a track day, with the bolstering where you need it, and you still keep the convenience of a seat that tips forward for access to the rear.
It has an orthopaedic backrest with lumbar support, deep side bolsters, shoulder supports and an integral head pad with a single harness slot. The recline is smooth, with a quality mechanism for fine adjustment of the backrest.
The tilt forward works on both sides, so the seats are not handed and can go on either side of any two door car where rear seat access matters. The seat is base mounted, with a 291mm x 330mm bolt pattern. Our guide to reclining seat mechanisms explains the options on seats like this.
Harnesses to go with it
For a reclining sports seat, a road harness with three or four points is the sensible match. The Takata Drift range suits these seats, and it comes in the traditional Takata green or in black. The Drift II has 2 inch shoulder and lap straps, while the Drift III uses 3 inch shoulder straps, and both come as bolt-on or snap-on versions.
