Takata split their belts into two families: the Drift series for road and track day cars, and the Race series for competition. Here is how they differ.

What we have changed
Every Takata belt we list now shows its current approval, an updated price and new images. We have also added bundle items at the checkout, chosen for each harness. Strap width and approval decide which accessories suit a belt, so the parts bundled with a Drift belt differ from those with an FIA Race belt.
The Takata Drift series
The Drift belts are made to be fitted in road cars, including cars that keep their factory seats. They are road and track belts, not FIA harnesses, and they come in Takata green or black to suit the interior.
The Drift II and Drift III come as snap on or bolt on versions. Snap on belts clip to eyebolts and come out without tools, which suits a car that still uses its standard seat belts day to day. Bolt on belts stay in place and suit a car that is set up for track days.

The Takata Race series
The Race belts carry FIA approval. They use Takata's compact T bar sub strap, and there are snap on and bolt on mounting options.
The bolt on Race belts use bendable stainless steel brackets for the lap belts, made to bolt to the car's factory seat belt mounting points. The brackets can be bent to suit the car and keep the belt pulling in the right direction.
The Race 4 belts also have ASM, Takata’s anti submarining mechanism, on the right shoulder belt. In an impact above a critical level it releases around two extra inches of webbing on that shoulder, which allows enough upper body rotation to help reduce the chance of sliding under the lap belt. For drivers who need a six point FIA belt for a HANS device, the Race 2×2 uses two inch shoulder and lap straps.

An anti submarining mechanism on the right shoulder belt of the Race 4 that releases around two inches of webbing in a severe impact.
