What is on this page
Who SW Motorsports are
SW Motorsports is a UK company, based in Preston, Lancashire, that designs and builds roll cages and seat mounting kit. They also make track day roll cages, and the same approach goes into their seat brackets: made in the UK, designed around specific cars, and meant to bolt in without cutting or welding.
That is why we added them. When someone buys a bucket seat from us, the bit that decides whether the job is easy or awkward is usually the mounting, and a well made bracket system takes a lot of the guesswork out.
How the side mounts work
A bucket seat is normally fitted in two layers. The side mounts bolt to the sides of the seat shell, and they in turn bolt to a subframe or runners that attach to the car’s original seat mounting points. SW Motorsports make both parts: side mounts to suit almost any side mount bucket seat, and direct fit subframes for particular models.
The side mounts have a series of slots and holes, so you can set the height and the angle of the seat to suit you. Getting that right is what makes a bucket seat comfortable, and it is worth taking the time over it before the final tightening.

What to tell us when you order
To get the right brackets first time we need three things: the make, model and year of the car, the seat you are fitting, and whether it is for the driver’s side, the passenger side, or both. If the car has been modified, or the seat is one you already own, send us a photo of its mounting points too.
Garreth’s advice is to check your seat belt buckle clearance once the seat is in, because a bucket seat often puts the buckle somewhere new. Our guide to seat bolt patterns will help you work out what your seat needs.
