Safety Devices Ford Roll Cages Updated For 2024

Roll cage news, April 2024

Our whole range of Safety Devices roll cages for Ford has been brought up to date for 2024, with current specifications, colour options and cage designs. The range covers bolt-in and weld-in cages for a long list of Fords, from the Cortina and Escort Mk1 to the Fiesta, Focus, Sierra and Puma.

Most full cages now come with a choice of door bars, and there is a rear cage version for the full cages, for owners who want protection behind the seats without a front cage.

  • Our Safety Devices Ford roll cages updated for 2024
  • Bolt-in and weld-in cages for a wide range of Ford models
  • Door bar options on the full cages
  • Rear cage versions with a choice of diagonal and harness bar
  • Black powder coat as standard, or grey, blue, silver, white or red
  • Each listing shows the model, cage number and approval

What has changed on the Ford cages

Every Safety Devices Ford cage on our site has been checked and rewritten. Each listing now sets out the model it is built for, the Safety Devices cage number, the approval it carries and the options you can choose, so it is clear which cage suits which car.

The options have grown too. Colour, cage configuration and door bars can all be chosen on the listing, and different door bar specifications change the look of the whole cage, so you can build it the way you want.

Full cages and door bars

The full cages are made up of a front cage and a rear cage, with door bars on each side as an option. On a bolt-in cage such as the Escort Mk1 6 point, the listing sets out every part: the front cage, the rear cage with or without a diagonal and harness bar, and the nearside and offside door bars.

The listings also note what each cage is designed around, such as whether the car has a sunroof and whether the cage clears the normal trim and dashboard, which is worth checking before you order.

Rear cages on their own

With this update there are rear cage versions for the full cages. These do not come with a front cage or door bar options, and each has its own choice of specification: a cross brace, a single bar, or a single bar with a harness bar. Some rear cage specifications are not homologated for competition, and the listing says which, so check it against what you plan to do with the car.

Garreth’s advice is to decide how the car will be used before choosing between bolt-in and weld-in, and to check what your championship asks for. Our guides to bolt-in and weld-in cages and roll cage rules go through both.

Finishes and colours

The cages come in black powder coat as standard, with grey, blue, silver, white and red also offered, and unpainted by special request. If you are after a colour that is not on the list, ask and we will see what we can do. The whole range is in our Safety Devices Ford roll cages section.

Safety Devices are a UK maker of competition roll cages. If the cage has a harness bar, it also gives a proper mounting point for the shoulder straps of a multi point harness, which we can help you choose.

The range covers many Ford models, including the Escort, Fiesta, Focus, Sierra, Sapphire, Puma, Cortina and KA.

Yes. There are rear cage versions of the full cages, without a front cage or door bars.

No. Some rear cage specifications are not, and the listing says which.
