The Renault Clio 3 RS now has its own Stern Performance rear seat delete kit in our range. The kit takes out the rear bench and puts a strut bar and a webbing net in its place, and a carpet cut for the Clio covers the floor behind the front seats.
The Clio 3 RS is a favourite for track days, and the rear seats are an easy place to start saving weight. The kit, carpet, net and strut bar are all sold separately as well.

What is on this page
What the Clio kit is
A rear seat delete takes out the rear bench and finishes off the space behind the front seats, so the car looks built for the track and not half stripped. Stern’s kit, often called a clubsport kit, uses an aluminium strut bar across the car at the height of the old seat back, and a net made from seat belt style webbing that hangs beneath it to close off the boot.
Stern describe it as plug and play. The brackets use existing mounting points, which vary by model: the seat holder, the rear seat belt mounting or the side panel. The net normally hooks onto the car’s own eyelets or Isofix points.
This is the carpet on its own. It runs from the boot opening right up to the back of the front seats, cut around the fixings so it lies flat.
It has a velour surface, synthetic leather edges and decorative stitching, black as standard or a contrast colour on request. The structured rubber underside grips the floor so it stays put and takes out some of the road noise.
Bar and net colours
The car in the main photo runs a red net, which suits the Renault Sport colours. The net came in black, blue or red webbing, with other colours on request, and the strut bar is powder-coated aluminium in your choice of colour, or full carbon as an option.
Each piece is also sold separately. You can start with the bar and net, add the carpet later, or change one part without buying the whole kit again. When you order, tell us the exact car and year so we can confirm the parts before Stern make them.
Who makes them, and a note on harnesses
Stern Performance was founded in Kaltenkirchen, Germany, in 2017, and every part is handmade there. They specialise in rear seat delete kits for hot hatches, which is why each one is made for a single car.
