A fabric tow eye strap loops over the car’s factory tow point and gives marshals or a recovery crew something brightly coloured and quick to grab. The bolt-on fixed-length version (part number 23N500) fastens directly through the tow eye rather than just looping around it. The strap runs through the tow point and bolts on each side, which keeps it in place even if a marshal pulls at an angle. Fixed length means it sits at a set depth and does not move between events.
Mandatory in most paddock and circuit regulations. Motorsport UK and most club-level supplement regulations require both a front and a rear tow point, clearly visible and easily accessible from outside the car. Recovery by a marshal who cannot find the tow point quickly is a longer recovery, and a car blocking a racing line longer than it needs to is a hazard to other competitors.
Hi-Vis Yellow is the right choice when visibility matters. Regulations often specify a minimum size and a bright colour for the strap; check your class supplements if you are unsure. Pink, green, and Miami blue are popular for car identification in a busy pit lane where everyone’s front bumper looks the same.
