The Sparco Grid Q QRT Fibreglass Sim Racing Seat (part 008009GNR-1) is the sim-racing variant of Sparco’s Grid Q shell, designed for use in fixed sim rigs rather than road or competition vehicles. This variant carries Gaming and Sim Racing approval only. It is not FIA-homologated and is not suitable for use in any form of real motorsport event.
The shell is fibreglass and fixed-back, which is the correct specification for a sim rig: the side-mount configuration allows rigid attachment to the rig frame, and the fixed-back shell holds the same position during use without any flex or movement. For simulator work, that consistency matters for repeatable driving position and force feedback response.
Trim is velour, in black. For sim use, the heat and sweat loading that drives the trim choice in a real competition seat is not a factor. Velour is comfortable for long sessions on a rig and holds up well under normal sim use conditions.
Driver sizing is up to 6 foot in height, 32 to 36-inch waist. The Grid Q uses a standard-width shell. Larger-framed drivers who find the shell tight across the shoulders may want to look at wider alternatives for their rig build.
No brackets are included. You will need side-mount hardware compatible with your specific rig’s frame system. The seat is sold as the shell only. Six-point harness compatible, which is useful for rigs that run a harness for immersion. The HANS-friendly designation in the attributes is a carry-over from the seat shell’s design and is not relevant for sim use.
