Why one frame covers three cars
The TT, the 991 and the Cayman put their seat mounting points in the same place, so Recaro make one frame and list it for all three. We also list it under the 991 on its own so a Porsche owner searching by model finds it; either page is the same part.
On the factory bolts
Nothing gets drilled. The frame uses the mounting points already in the floor and sits a Recaro seat at the height Recaro designed it for in these cars, which in a 991 or a Cayman is the difference between a helmet clearing the roof and not.
The mounts in between
The seat does not bolt straight to the frame. Recaro side mounts go in between, fixed or flexible, and Recaro homologate those with the seat as one system. The mounts are on their own listing.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
