Headrest trim to match the rest of the interior
This is one piece of Cobra’s retrim range, which covers the parts of an interior that sit around the seats: headrests, the centre armrest, door panels and the rear bench.
The point of the range is that you can put new Cobra seats in the front and have everything else match, rather than ending up with a smart pair of seats in front of tired trim.
Why vinyl
It wipes clean, it takes wear better than any of the soft options, and on a classic it is usually the period correct answer.
The trade is temperature. Vinyl does not breathe, so it holds the cold in winter and the heat in summer. On a headrest that matters less than it does on a seat base, which is why vinyl is an easy choice up here even in a car trimmed in something softer lower down.
