Ordered to match, more than for the wear
On a front panel this combination is a practical decision: leather on the edges that get scuffed, alcantara on the centre that does not. On a rear panel there is far less wear to design around, because the back doors in most classics are opened rarely.
So the reason to specify it here is consistency. If the fronts are leather and alcantara, the rears need to be too, or the panels either side of the car read as two different interiors.
What you get anyway
The leather perimeter still holds its shape better than a soft material would over years, and the alcantara centre still avoids the reflections a full leather panel throws back under the side glass.
Neither is the deciding factor back here. Matching is.
Where it sits
Upper price tier with leather and alcantara, all three the same money on door panels. Vinyl and fabric and spacer fabric are the cheaper options.
Made by Cobra in Berkshire. Headrests, the centre armrest and the rear bench come in the same six materials, so a whole interior can be specified in one go.
