The SW0077 is a pair of FIA approved steel side mount brackets made specifically for the BMW E36 and E46. The reason a car-specific product exists for these two models is the most useful thing to know about it.
The E36 and E46 seat the driver slightly off-centre to the steering wheel. The amount is not dramatic but most people who have driven a modified E46 with a standard bucket seat installation notice it. The SW0077 is designed to correct it: the bracket geometry positions a 425-440mm seat directly behind the steering wheel rather than at the factory offset. The QMS range notes describe this as an important advantage on those models, and it is.
At £52.50 for a pair it costs £26 more than the universal QMSMON1 side mounts. The price difference is the centring geometry. If you are fitting a seat in an E36 or E46 and you do not care about the offset, the universal mounts work fine and cost less. If you want the seat centred on the wheel, this is the bracket.
Steel construction, FIA approved, black powder coat. Made for seats 425-440mm across the outside of the shell flanges. Check your seat width before ordering; most popular club racing shells such as Cobra, OMP and Corbeau competition models fall in that range, but it is worth confirming.
Available as separate variations for RHD driver side and RHD passenger side. They are not interchangeable geometrically, so order the correct side for the seat being fitted.
For the aluminium version, which is lighter and anodised black, see the SW0019 at £95.00. For two seats in one order, the SW0077-X2 covers both sides at £89.50. We hold UK stock of the full QMS fitting range; the lead time for most orders is two to three working days.
